Saskia recently secured a role as an Assurance Associate at EY, after completing an internship there over summer. She has attended Bright Network Festival and Women in Leadership, and says they both helped her secure the role, and also found the information on the Bright Network website useful. She’s finishing her undergraduate degree at Warwick, and is looking forward to starting at EY in 2018.
Why did you choose the role of Assurance Associate at EY?
Out of the Big 4, EY have always stuck out to me. They are honestly an extremely friendly firm and I have found that everyone is so willing to answer your questions and help you progress. Having completed an internship with EY's London Assurance division this summer, I really could not see myself anywhere else. The role gives you a great insight into a variety of businesses and the opportunity to gain a variety of skills whether they are technical or communication focused.
What was the toughest part of the application process? And your favourite part?:
The toughest part of the application process was probably the interview but it actually ended up being natural and relaxed by the end. Preparation here is definitely key. My favourite part was actually the assessment centre. It was the first opportunity I had to see the amazing office as well as meet staff and other candidates, some of who I ended up working with on the internship.
What top tips would you give your fellow Bright Network members looking to follow in your footsteps?:
Speak to as many employees as possible and gather as much information as you can. The best way to prepare is hearing about life at the company first hand!
