Step 1: Application Submission
Submit your CV and a 200-word response detailing your understanding of what Alpha do
Step 2: Cognitive Test (& Coding Test for Technical Analyst roles)
If you pass the initial screening stage, you will be asked to complete an online cognitive test. These are a series of adaptive, gamified tests designed to test numerous cognitive abilities. For our Technical Analyst roles, you will also complete a Coding Test designed to test your competency to write and solve a code-based problem
Step 3: Video Interview
If you score above the minimum threshold for the cognitive test(s), you will be invited to complete a video interview. The video interview contains 4 questions designed to assess your understanding of Alpha, your motivations for the role and your relevant skills
Step 4: Telephone Interview
If you pass the video interview stage, you will be invited to a competency-based telephone interview with Bright Network where you will be assessed on your communication skills, and ability to think logically/analytically
Step 5: Assessment Centre
If you pass the telephone interview stage, you will be shortlisted by Alpha and invited to an assessment centre. The assessment centre consists of 3 components:
- CV/Competency-Based Interview: a one-to-one competency-based interview with one of Alpha’s consultants to talk you through your motivations for the role. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about Alpha and the role
- Case Study: a ‘mock’ project that assesses a combination of logical problem solving, creative thinking and soft skills. You will be presented with a briefing document, Excel data and a PowerPoint template and will be asked to prepare and present a slideshow containing analysis and a set of recommendations. There will be a short Q&A and debrief at the end to provide feedback
- Group Exercise: you will work with other candidates to solve a challenge together. This will test your ability to work effectively in a team
The assessment centres are currently being run remotely but we hope to return to in-person assessment centres over 2022/23. Timetables, Zoom links, and access to our file management system (Box) will be shared in advance of the assessment centre. There is an informal session at the end of the assessment centre to hear from our recent graduates and ask them questions!
Step 6: Final Round Interview
If you are successful at the assessment centre, you will be invited to a final round interview with one of Alpha’s Directors. This interview will assess your motivations for the role, commercial awareness and will provide you an opportunity to ask any further questions you might have
